Double V-belts

Double V-belts are a special type of V-belts consisting of two separately toothed surfaces on the inside connected by a common back reinforced with tension cords. They are particularly used when multiple pulleys are on the same plane and the direction of rotation of one or more driven pulleys needs to be changed. Thanks to their special properties, they are ideal for typical serpentine arrangements. The profile shape of a double V-belt consists of a hexagon formed by two identical trapezoids. This special profile shape allows for efficient power transmission on both sides and ensures that the belt can smoothly switch between the pulleys when the direction of rotation is reversed. This type of belt is mainly used in agricultural machinery, but is also increasingly used in general mechanical engineering. The specified length of the double V-belt refers to the reference length located in the middle of the belt. The width dimensions refer to the width of the common back of the two surfaces of the double V-belt.
