Variable speed belts

Wide angle belts or variable belts are used in stepless drives. The stepless control of the speed of the drive is regulated by changing the width of the pulleys. To ensure high stability, variable belts are made of several layers of specially treated rubber and a tension cord reinforcement made of aramid (e.g. Kevlar) or other high-strength materials, which is reinforced with an additional elastomer layer. This elastomer layer offers high transverse stiffness due to special fibers running transversely to the direction of rotation. Thanks to their toothed design, these V-belts are suitable for small deflections and offer a high bending radius, which improves their flexibility and versatility. The force is transmitted through the flanks in the wide angle belts or variable belts. Due to their flexibility and excellent power transmission properties, wide angle belts or variable belts are a crucial component in modern stepless drives in a variety of vehicles and machines.
