Raw-edge cogged V-belts

Flank open V-belts do not have the protective covering of fabric layers, so that the flanks are exposed. Due to this missing, relatively stiff covering, flank open V-belts are particularly flexible. The power transmission from the pulley to the tension members occurs directly through the belt core to the tension members, without the detour via the covering. This increases the power transmission. To improve the lateral stiffness, elastomer fibers are incorporated transversely to the direction of travel in flank open V-belts.
