Plummer block housing(s)/-units
A pillow block unit, also known as a pillow block housing unit, is a pre-assembled unit that combines a bearing with an associated pillow block housing. These units facilitate installation and save assembly time, as the bearing is already inserted into the housing.
The pillow block housings can take on different shapes (round, square, etc.). They always have a flat underside that serves as a base and secures the housing to a solid surface. Typically made of robust materials such as cast iron, ductile iron, or steel, it provides a solid and stable environment for the pillow block.
Pillow block housings can accommodate a variety of types of bearings, such as ball bearings, roller bearings, or plain bearings, depending on the specific requirements of the application.
Depending on the areas of application and specific requirements, the pillow block housings can be equipped with different types of seals.
The initial grease fill already ensures a long service life, however, many pillow block housings are equipped with lubrication holes for re-greasing. Often, there are markings on the housing that allow for subsequent lubrication holes.
